FAMILY AND FUTURE

Thinking of your family
and the years ahead.

A good application today prepares tomorrow’s renewals and nationality.

  • Reunification of spouse, children and dependent parents.
  • Relatives of Spanish and EU citizens.
  • Renewals without breaking continuity of residence.
  • Nationality: 10 years as a rule, 2 years for Latin America and other countries, 1 year in cases such as marriage to a Spaniard.
  • Coordination with your taxes from the first year.

The new Immigration Regulation

The Regulation approved by Royal Decree 1155/2024 applies from 20 May 2025. It reorganises settlement (arraigo) into five types: second chance, social-employment, social, training and family. Settlement permits last one year, except the family one, which lasts five.

If your application was prepared under the previous rules, it should be reviewed against the current regulation before filing.

Non-lucrative residence

It lets you live in Spain without working or carrying out professional activities. You must show funds of 400% of IPREM per month, plus 100% for each dependent family member, health insurance and no criminal record. The initial permit lasts one year.

It does not allow work, not even remote work for a foreign company. If that is your case, the route is international remote work.

Working in Spain

Besides general work permits, Law 14/2013 eases entry for highly qualified professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, intra-company transferees and international remote workers. These applications are handled by the Large Companies and Strategic Groups Unit.

The investor residence route was repealed on 3 April 2025.

Spanish nationality

By residence, ten years of legal residence are generally required. Five are enough for refugees and two for nationals of Latin American countries, Andorra, the Philippines, Equatorial Guinea or Portugal and for Sephardic Jews. One year is enough, among other cases, if you have been married to a Spanish citizen for a year.

We prepare the file so qualifying residence and documents are in order when the time comes.
